Sustainability, innovation, and a new generation of professionals took center stage at the latest edition of EBACE2019. “The enthusiasm surrounding this year’s show has been palpable throughout the week”, said European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) Secretary General Athar Husain Khan. “EBACE2019 was characterized by new products, new business models, new investment opportunities and a new generation of aviation professionals determined to make their mark”.

Concepts taken from one of the event’s important themes included the use of sustainable alternative jet fuel (SAJF) for business aviation. In fact, 23 out of the 58 aircraft present at the static display reached Geneva powered by SAJF which is obtained from a mixture of Jet A1 and biofuels with a 50/50 ratio. Biofuels are refined from a wide range of renewable feedstocks like agricultural waste or used cooking oils. The crown jewel among new proposals was definitely eVTOL (electrical vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft and concepts developed by FACC AG, MAEM and Pegasus. Called the “urban air mobility revolution”, it demonstrates how in a few years eVTOL vehicles have gone from being a futuristic dream to now being an increasingly solid new sector. National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) President and CEO Ed Bolen added that EBACE has once again proved its ability to concretely represent the future of business aviation with sustainable and innovative solutions that will be revolutionary.

Jointly organized by EBAA and NBAA, the EBACE 2020 edition will be held at the Geneva International Airport and Palexpo from May 26 to 28.
