Giorgio Pasotti

A view from elegant Palazzo Naiadi, a hotel that traces a link between the soul of the past and the spirit of the present. Rooms are designed in an elegant neoclassical style, featuring silk wall hangings, brocade curtains, and new and antique golden nuances.

It is a palazzo full of history promising an unforgettable stay, a warm and personalized welcome, located in the splendid setting of Piazza della Repubblica, overlooking the Naiadi del Rutelli fountain and Michelangelo’s Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli. History is everywhere: dating back to 1887, with a wing built in 1705 by Pope Clement XI for the Vatican’s grain storage, Palazzo Naiadi overlooks the ancient Baths of Diocletian (306 AD), where you can admire excavations of the foundations and mosaics through the basement floor. Be enchanted by the sunset over the domes of Rome from the rooftop terrace and pool.

238 rooms and suites are equally spread throughout the crescent-shaped palazzo built by Gaetano Koch in 1887, while three contemporary Executive Suites were
designed in neoclassical style featuring elegant golden nuances, both modern and antique. Rediscover wellness and relaxation at Fusion Spa, an intimate and peaceful haven offering treatments derived from ancient Roman and Asian rituals with sensual essential oils, and healing herbs and minerals. Or brighten your spirit in Palazzo Naiadi’s splendid hall, sampling a glass of Barolo or an authentic Caesar salad. For a more intimate dining experience, the Tazio restaurant or the lively Champagnerie and terrace will welcome you for a champagne cocktail overlooking the square. Palazzo Naiadi is part of The Dedica Anthology, a new luxury hotel brand, born out of the passionate belief that travelling should be a presence, not an absence.

Completo CANALI – Orologio PIAGET –  Scarpe SANTONI

And right here, in this dreamlike wonder, we meet with Italian actor Giorgio Pasotti, who is just back from wrapping up filming his second film as director, “Abbi fede.” Today, in an exclusive interview for us, the star of a photographic set here in a city that is master in the art of savoir vivre. Rome.

After many years of success, who is Giorgio Pasotti today?
After many years (by now 20), I am still no more nor less than who I was before starting to do this line of work. I have the same curiosity, ambition, and desire to put myself out there. Actually, if I have to be honest, perhaps even more now!

Before being an actor, you excelled in a completely different discipline. In 1986, you were the youngest black belt in wushu in Italy. What memories do you have of that period?
The sports chapter was one of the most wonderful periods of my life. Ever since I was a child, I definitely wanted the life of an athlete (and I would still want it!). The summers spent training in the gym, lying in bed completely exhausted but with a serene mind, the emotions at the podium, crying at the first notes of the anthem (when I won…

) are all unforgettable memories for me, that are still alive in me today. Every so often, I think back on those moments with great pleasure.

What was your cinema debut?
I consider “I piccoli maestri” by Daniele Luchetti to be my true cinema debut. Even if my real debut was in a Chinese film during my time at university in Beijing. It was a martial arts film called “Treasure Hunt.”

Is there a particular role you played in your career that left a mark on you?
Honestly no, every character has left something with me. I have loved every character that I’ve played. If you don’t feel any affection for even the darkest characters, you can’t play them.

Who is a director that you would like to work with?
I am lucky enough to have worked with great directors, whom I would gladly work with again. There are others that I admire and would be curious to work with. The list is long…

Future projects? Any revelations…?
I have just finished my second film as director called “Abbi fede,” a remake of a Danish film titled “Adam’s Apples.” Because regardless of religion, I believe that trust in others is the solution to all the greatest problems nowadays.
