Enchanting Land
ICONIC GOLF| Chiara Melani
Puglia is a continent. It is rural and mountainous in the Monti Dauni, rocky and ancient in Gargano, it spreads over plains of wheat in Tavoliere, it is arid and dry in the Murgia plateau, it is area of merchants and olive groves near the sea, then becomes one of cork and snow south of the capital before turning friable and rugged in Salento. Torre Maizza is a white cathedral, immersed in the lands of Puglia. Dominating the large, hilly property, it overlooks the Mediterranean Sea, surrounded by centuries-old olive trees, orchards, and vineyards; there the intense fragrance of myrtle and delicate jasmine boast of relaxing time spent during an unforgettable stay.
The antique Torre Maizza was built in the 16th century as a watchtower, and was part of a line of defense from Gargano to Santa Maria di Leuca’s finibus terrae; Torre Maizza has now become a sophisticated five-star luxury resort. It features 30 rooms and suites, as well as a private sandy beach, and numerous sports and activities for wellness: yoga and pilates with expert instructors, horse riding and riding lessons. It also offers wine and oil tastings, and special evenings at the three.[/vc_column_text]
