A journey to the steamy waters of the Blue Lagoon is wellness sought in the deep blue, rich in minerals. Opened in the fall of 2017, Moss Hotel offers guests exclusive access to facilities, as well as to the Moss restaurant and spa, known as Lava Cove. The interconnected structure was created to “erase the boundary between nature, wellness, hospitality, and affluence” through “the extraordinary powers of the geothermal seawater, the beauty of the Blue Lagoon’s volcanic surroundings, and the luxuries of world-class service.
”Hundreds of visitors embark on this journey every year, choosing the Blue Lagoon as the place to dive into the lakes created in an 800-year-old lava field.

It is strategically located in Grindavik on the Reykjanes peninsula, near the country’s international airport. “The opening of Lava Cove and Moss Hotel represents an important milestone for the Blue Lagoon,” says Dagný Pétursdóttir, Managing Director of Blue Lagoon.“We are evolving and expanding our horizons.” Horizons that are wrapped in a cloud of geothermal steam.
