ICONIC YACHT | Chiara Melani
Yachts, mega yachts, sailboats, multihull vessels, small motorboats … hundreds of these units arrive every year at Cannes for the world premier exhibition, at the leading boat show in Europe: Cannes Yachting Festival. From September 11 to 16, Vieux Port and Port Pierre Canto will be decked out with sparkling boats, all leaders in innovation, design, style, and integrated electronics. It is an exhibition of nautical craftsmanship for a diverse and demanding clientele, those looking for the best and wanting to purchase something truly unique. The last edition recorded 50,000 visitors and 528 exhibitors (60% from abroad).
It had 600 boats from 2.10 to 65 meters, as well as 214 new boats and yachts, including 108 world premieres. In addition, 45 second-hand boats between 22 and 65 meters were presented at Port Pierre Canto, 148 boats over 20 meters in length, 103 sailing boats (17%), and 43 multihulls, including 11 motor yachts.
The Festival provides special and unforgettable moments, offering test runs in the sea to give boat lovers and new buyers a chance to try out the new units presented.
Enthusiasts can find their ideal boats ranging from 2.80 to 65 meters in a fleet presented by the most renowned manufacturers from both France and the international community.
Set in the Côte d’Azur, it is a maritime fashion show accompanied by prestigious sponsors from luxury brands of art de vivre, there to present their savoir-faire and latest products. For the 41st edition, the Yachting Festival has changed its visual identity to be in line with both continuity and evolution: elegance, clean lines, calm sea, horizons, and the lovely lifestyle, all elements that inspire navigation. A new graphic is featured: on one side, there is a motor yacht representing the show’s original identity and the 500 units exhibited from 2 to 65 meters, while on the other side, there is a sailboat with a lowered spinnaker.
From one end to the other of the famous Croisette, for the best of international motor, sailing, monohull or multihull boats, visit Cannes from September 11 to 16.
