Noble Residence

ICONIC HOTEL | Laura Scatena

“There are fantastical hands that can become fateful,” (Alda Merini) and there are voluptuous works of art that can become everlasting. Lorenzo Quinn celebrated the last edition of the Venice Biennale with an emblem of two colossal hands, emerging from the Grand Canal and seeming to support the luxurious Hotel Ca’ Sagredo.

This image adds to the explosion of majesty that faces the Rialto Bridge, an immaculate beauty found in a historic noble residence: Ca’ Sagredo Hotel is full of works of art that recall an extraordinary history of elegance and splendor.

Between Ca’ D’Oro and Rialto Bridge, this 15th century Palazzo has been recognized as a national monument: after 5 centuries of history, it still has the beauty of a historic aristocratic home, and its 42 rooms bear witness to this. Condé Nast Johansens awarded it “Best Hotel for Weddings, Parties and Special Events 2017” for the splendid suites and 4th floor rooftop terrace that offers unrivaled views of the lavish lagoon, and Love Travel Awards has also awarded it “Best Wedding Hotel,” among numerous other accolades.

At La Terrazza del Ristorante l’Alcova, headed by Chef Damiano Bassano, the Rialto Market is the inspiration for the menu: fresh ingredients from the land and sea are prepared with creativity and talent.

Fresh tuna steaks with Marsala, carnaroli risotto with shrimp, burrata cheese and almonds, just to name a few of the delicacies made by the talented chef from Puglia. He transforms traditional flavors into exclusive moments to create a truly multi-sensory culinary experience.

Every location that Hotel Ca’ Sagredo offers for meetings and various gatherings is elite and equally wonderful: it is perfect for receptions, vernissage, fashion shows, public ceremonies, and exclusive dinners. In the “Music Ballroom,” antique gold leaf chandeliers hang from a double-height ceiling, illuminating the frescoes, and providing perfect acoustics where sound becomes the undisputed king.

Entering “Portego,” your eye is drawn to beautiful windows with great Gothic quadrefoils at the other end of the room, offering a breathtaking view over the Grand Canal. “Sala Amigoni” is decorated with elegant medallions in colorful stucco depicting mythological gods, and is ideal as a preparatory room during important events, or for an afternoon coffee break, symbolic ceremonies, or apertitivi.

Then moving on to the “Sala Del Doge,” the enormous ceiling features “La Sconfitta dei Vizi” (or “The Defeat of Vices”), attributed to Nicolò Bambini (1651-1736). It is framed by precious stucco decorations done by stucco masters Abbondio Stazio and Carpoforo Mazzetti in the early 18th century. Ending in the “Sala del Tiepolo,” a renowned mythological scene is depicted on the light blue and greyish background. Rich wood and golden stucco decorations give this room a tone of elegance and make it the perfect place for intimate work meetings, banquets, or sophisticated and exclusive dinners.

Major performers and live shows will be featured in the upcoming 2018 season with a rich and varied program of events, ranging from scholarly to glamorous and lifestyle events. It starts with the most anticipated event of the year: Venice’s Carnival. And Ca’Sagredo will welcome its illustrious guests and VIPs.

“Festa di Carnevale” kicks off Carnival festivities, organized by Monte Carlo’s Club de L’Amitié on January 27. Saturday, February 10 there is the Consular Corps Parade, and then a concert by the International Association for Venice Carnival in the “Salone del Portego”.

Following, a celebration of aesthetic beauty with the exclusive party “Style Affair” in partnership with our luxury magazine to present the December edition, then the “Veganism” conference led by Stefano Momentè (February 17), concerts and buffets for “International Association for Venice Carnival” (February 25).

]The upcoming events season is sure to enthrall and charm visitors, thanks to the rare chance to experience the magnificence of a Venetian 15th century palazzo, in the enchanting atmosphere of the most magical city in the world…and Ca’Sagredo is sure to conquer your heart.
