L’elite dei campioni riunita a Monte-Carlo

ICONIC EVENT | Asia Bernardini

“With the presence of 17 out of the best 20 players in the world in 2017, I want to thank them again for their loyalty and commitment to the tournament. The 2017 Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters has been recordbreaking. Aided by exceptional weather, the tournament had a record turnout with a total of 135,809 spectators, 33% of whom were Italian. We’ve recorded absolutely everything from Monday to Sunday on all five courts. A first for us!”, Zeljko Franulovic said.

Organized by SMETT (Monegasque Society for Tennis Tournament Implementation), the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters are on Monte-Carlo Country Club’s exceptional courts from April 14 to 22, 2018. It is the first European tournament in the prestigious ATP World Tour Masters 1000. Together with the Formula 1 Gran Prix and Monaco Yacht Show, this event stands as one of the must-see events in the Principality, and also marks the start of the season along the Côte d’Azur.

Founded in 1897, this tournament is one of high prestige for such champions as Rafael Nadal, who won his 10th title in Monte-Carlo in his 11th final on Court Rainier III, beating his opponent Albert Ramos-Vinolas in what was his first final. The 112th edition starts Friday, April 13, with the draw for the final board, forecasting.

An appealing schedule with can’t-miss events, like Children’s Day on Sunday, April 15, 2018 or the traditional Great Night of Tennis on Friday, April 20. The Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters is known as one of the most important tournaments for red clay tennis, as well as the first event of the year. Every year it welcomes about fifty of the greatest players in the world during a week of spellbinding matches that entertain thousands of spectators and fans (in fact, the tournament is televised in 66 countries on five continents). Elite champions gather in Monte-Carlo to be cheered on at the first occasion of the year in Europe.
