ICONIC JET | Asia Bernardini
“FTV4, the first aircraft to be furnished with a cabin interior, has a unique purpose in flight validation. It is confirming the unparalleled comfort and interior design that our customers can expect from this game-changing business jet”, said Michel Ouellette, Senior Vice-President, Global 7000 and Global 8000 Program.
“The robust ground testing completed on our interior test rig and the upcoming flight validation prepare us for certification of the interiors. We have placed tremendous effort on making the Global 7000 aircraft a business jet like no other”.
Global 7000 is the largest jet designed for the industry and the only one with four living spaces and a full-sized crew rest area. It is a private jet above and beyond any compromise, from the design to aerodynamically advanced wing construction, providing a smooth and comfortable journey.
Designed for structured performance with a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925, and with a definitive combination of speed, range, elevation, and smooth travel, Global 7000 aircrafts surpass boundaries and travel towards unexplored confines.
“The Architect” Global 7000’s fourth flight test vehicle (FTV4) presented at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Conference and Exhibition in Las Vegas, is the first flight test vehicle equipped with a cabin interior. It includes a cabin management system and entertainment options, newly designed seats and amenities in all of the four living spaces, a full-sized crew rest area and gourmet galley.[/vc_column_text]
Production of Global 7000’s interiors is already underway at Bombardier’s Centre of Excellence in Montreal. The recently inaugurated atelier hosts cabinet makers, woodworkers, upholsterers, and support personnel, with state-of-the-art technology for seat and cabinet manufacturing including automated cutting and polishing.
“Our Global 7000 flight test vehicles continue to undergo rigorous testing at our world-class flight test center in Wichita, Kansas”, adds François Caza, Vice-President, Product Development and Chief Engineer, Product Development Engineering Bombardier Business Aircraft.
“Having now flown nearly 900 hours, the aircraft continue to perform extremely well and to exhibit a high level of reliability. Areas of the flight envelope and the performance of the systems, including at extreme temperatures, have been tested. The results show a maturity which is in full support of the planned certification activities”, he concludes.
From its visionary design and superior performance, Global 7000 redefines the business aircraft experience. Its cabin entertainment system together with lightning-fast connection speeds via Ka-band provide exceptional navigation and allow passengers to stream high-definition content.
It is an evolution and unstoppable progress: FTV5, known as “The Masterpiece”, is the fifth and final flight test vehicle in the Global 7000 flight validation program.
Final preparations are underway for the initial flight of FTV5 at Bombardier’s facility in Toronto, which will be used to perform even further maturity testing to ensure a reliable entry into service in 2018. A visionary heritage, excellence and orchestrated experiences, where the ultimate masterpiece is the potential for divine design technology.
